On December 3rd, COINOTAG reported significant movements in Bitcoin (BTC) as the U.S. government transferred 19,800 BTC valued at approximately $1.92 billion. This transfer, which occurred just nine hours ago, included a substantial 10,000 BTC sent specifically to Coinbase, one of the leading cryptocurrency exchanges. Notably, in 2024 alone, the U.S. government has sent a total of 25,999 BTC to Coinbase, equating to around $2.49 billion. It is crucial to emphasize that these transactions appear to be largely custodial in nature rather than reflective of any divestment strategy. Currently, the U.S. government maintains a formidable Bitcoin reserve, holding nearly 183,850 BTC, translating to an impressive $17.57 billion across various identifiable wallets.
