According to recent reports from COINOTAG, the US government has taken a notable step in the cryptocurrency landscape by liquidating seized ANT tokens from Alameda Research, as indicated by Arkham Research data. This transaction marks a significant event, as it is the first movement of assets from the government’s wallet in almost two years, involving approximately $974,000 in total. On-chain analytics reveal that authorities utilized the AragonDAO ANT token redemption address to offload over 82,000 seized ANT tokens, the governance token of the Aragon platform.
Additionally, in November 2023, the Aragon Association—operating as a Swiss nonprofit—decided to dissolve its holdings and initiated plans to liquidate 86,343 ETH, valued at around $155 million at that time, in exchange for ANT tokens. Users are reminded that the deadline for redeeming ANT is set for November 2, 2024. Post redemption, all remaining ANT will be permanently destroyed, as the organization has indicated that maintaining ANT no longer serves any purpose. To date, the US government has secured 209.199 ETH, equating to roughly $556,000, from AragonDAO.
