StakeWise DAO Recovers 5,041 osETH (~$19M) and 13,495 osGNO from Balancer Attacker, Restoring Funds to Affected Users

StakeWise DAO, in an official update dated November 4, disclosed that an emergency multi-signature wallet executed a controlled recovery on the Ethereum mainnet, reclaiming approximately 5,041 osETH (about $19 million) and 13,495 osGNO (about $1.7 million) from the Balancer attacker.

The osETH portion represents roughly 73.5% of the original 6,851 osETH stolen, as the attacker rapidly swapped the remaining tokens for ETH, limiting total recoveries to the stated amount. All stolen osGNO assets have been recovered, and the funds will be returned to users affected by the Balancer V2 attack, distributed according to pre-attack balances.

This outcome reflects a disciplined asset-recovery process by the protocol’s security framework, with recovered tokens slated for redistribution to affected users based on their prior account balances.
