Celestia’s Lemongrass Upgrade Enhances IBC and Interoperability with Key Features

On September 18, COINOTAG news revealed that Celestia has successfully launched the Lemongrass upgrade. Announced via social media, this marks Celestia’s inaugural mainnet upgrade, featuring streamlined one-click interaction through IBC and inter-chain accounts. Key updates in Lemongrass include the implementation of CIP-6 to set a minimum gas price aimed at reducing low-quality transactions. Moreover, CIP-9 enhances cross-chain transfer efficiency by introducing packet forwarding middleware.

Additionally, CIP-10 establishes a new signal mechanism for network upgrades to facilitate quicker future enhancements. The upgrade also brings in CIP-14, which introduces cross-chain account functionalities to bolster interoperability with the Cosmos ecosystem. Furthermore, CIP-20 streamlines the network by discontinuing the Blobstream module, thereby optimizing the network architecture and boosting overall performance.
