Zcash Co-Founder Advises Phreeli’s U.S. Launch of Anonymous Calling Service Using Zero-Knowledge Proof Payments

COINOTAG News reports that Phreeli, a U.S.-based anonymous calling service, has launched with a privacy-centric payment workflow that leverages Zero-Knowledge Proof (ZK) to verify a “paid” status without exposing user identity or payment details. This privacy-preserving verification aims to reduce data exposure in microtransactions.

Zcash co-founder Zooko Wilcox serves as an advisor and advocates the use of Zero-Knowledge Access Passes to enhance access control while maintaining privacy, aligning with the project’s cryptographic approach.

According to Decrypt, funding activity has totaled around $5 million over the past year, and the network’s infrastructure is reported to be provided by T-Mobile, highlighting cross-industry collaboration in privacy-focused fintech.
