Exponent Finance Completes $5 Million Seed Round
Solana-based yield exchange Exponent Finance has received a $5 million seed investment led by Multicoin Capital to expand its yield infrastructure. Solana Ventures, RockawayX, L1D, Prelude, Theia Blockchain, and angel investors Anatoly Yakovenko and Nick Ducoff also participated. Total capital raised to $7.1 million. Funds will be allocated to the new platform version planned for launch next month. Thanks to Solana's high-speed structure, sophisticated yield tools will be offered to users.
Investment Details and SAFE Structure
According to CEO Thomas Lefort, fundraising started in May 2023 and ended at the end of August. The deal was structured with SAFE (Simple Agreement for Future Equity) and token warrants. Since launch, Exponent has processed $2 billion in yield volume and reached over 35,000 users. Revenues come from derivative issuance fees and trading commissions.
What is an On-Chain Interest Rate Order Book?
The new platform introduces a fully on-chain interest rate order book. This converts variable yields like staking or lending into fixed-rate or leveraged positions. For example, Kamino protocol users will be able to convert their variable yields into fixed-term contracts. Solana's 400,000 TPS capacity provides millisecond-level matches, minimizing slippage.
Passive Yield Management with Strategy Vaults
Strategy vaults are ideal for those who don't like active management. Asset managers package fixed-rate loops or hedging tactics and offer them with limited on-chain policies. This brings institutional-grade tools to DeFi, strengthening the Solana ecosystem. Exponent proves the scaling potential of on-chain finance.
