This move was prompted by the UK’s intention to raise taxes on the offshore wealth of high-net-worth individuals. In a recent statement, Angermayer confirmed that he transitioned from London to Lugano this month. Notably, in Lugano, residents and businesses have the option to transact using Bitcoin or USDT, providing a more crypto-friendly environment. Conversely, those residing in the UK could face an annual tax obligation of 60,000 pounds (approximately 80,000 US dollars).
