BNB Chain has marked a significant milestone with the successful implementation of the Pascal hard fork, following the latest update from COINOTAG on March 21. This pivotal upgrade has introduced the EIP-7702 Smart Contract Wallet, which is set to enhance EVM compatibility and bolster developer support. Key innovations include improvements in gas fee abstraction, sophisticated smart payment interfaces, and the facilitation of batch transactions.

Looking ahead, BNB Chain has unveiled its comprehensive roadmap detailing upcoming enhancements. The forthcoming Lorentz upgrade, slated for April 2025, aims to significantly decrease block times to just 1.5 seconds, thereby improving transaction speeds and overall network efficiency. Following this, the Maxwell upgrade, anticipated in June 2025, is projected to further optimize block times, achieving an impressive target of 0.75 seconds.
