Valora founder Jackie Bona announced in a Wednesday blog post that the Valora team will join Stripe, signaling a strategic expansion as Stripe accelerates its foray into blockchain and stablecoins. The move underscores Stripe‘s interest in integrating crypto payments within mainstream financial rails.

Valora is a mobile-first cryptocurrency payments app built atop the Ethereum-based CELO layer-2 network. After its 2021 split from cLabs, the project raised about $20 million to advance on-chain wallet tooling and developer infrastructure.

A Stripe spokesperson confirmed that the Valora team’s experience in wallet infrastructure and on-chain developer tools will contribute to Stripe’s ongoing crypto initiatives.
