Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan on Libya's approval of the 2019 maritime boundary memorandum

But both legally and politically, this is an entirely legitimate agreement. There is no need to debate it.

In fact, according to our lawyers, the agreement signed in 2019 was technically already in force. What parliament did was an act of acceptance, not ratification.

Our goal, as everywhere else, is to bring stability, peace, tranquility and happiness to the Mediterranean.
