A delegation of senior Turkish naval officers visited Syria's port city of Latakia to support efforts to strengthen the capabilities of the Syrian Navy.
The delegation included Istanbul Shipyard Commander Rear Admiral Erdinç Yetkin, Naval Forces Logistics Chief Rear Admiral Timur Yılmaz and Naval Training and Education Commander Rear Admiral Yücel Darcan, along with representatives of Turkish state defense firm ASFAT.
Talks covered ship maintenance, repair and modernization, construction of new vessels, individual and team training, and upgrades to port infrastructure.
The two sides carried out inspections and agreed on a memorandum of understanding and a roadmap for cooperation.
