As reported by Cointelegraph on December 9, Strategy founder Michael Saylor urged governments worldwide to explore Bitcoin-based digital banking infrastructure that could offer high-yield deposits with low volatility, potentially mobilizing trillions of dollars in global deposits.

Speaking at the Bitcoin MENA forum in Abu Dhabi, Saylor outlined how nations might leverage overcollateralized Bitcoin reserves and tokenized credit instruments to underpin regulated digital banking accounts that deliver yields superior to traditional deposits.

He noted that yields on conventional bank deposits in Japan, Europe, and Switzerland are effectively near zero, while euro funds hover around 150 basis points and U.S. money-market rates approach 400 basis points, underscoring investor demand for higher‑yield alternatives, including corporate bonds.
