COINOTAG News, December 30, citing on-chain detective ZachXBT, reports that a Canadian threat actor named Haby (Havard) has conducted social engineering scams by impersonating Coinbase customer support. The allegations claim theft of more than $2 million in crypto assets over the past year, with proceeds funneled into rare social media usernames, nightclubs, gambling, and other discretionary expenses.

OSINT analysis points to activity in Abbotsford, near Vancouver, with investigators noting that the subject recently deleted several accounts two days ago and has been purchasing expensive Telegram usernames.

ZachXBT indicates that Canadian law enforcement may hold pertinent data, but the local prosecution rate for similar cases remains low, tempering expectations for rapid conclusions.
