COINOTAG News, citing The Block, reports that on December 9, Horizen’s Layer 3 network has formally deployed its mainnet on Base, marking a key milestone for this longstanding privacy network. The rollout completes a notable phase in Horizen’s ongoing evolution toward layered architecture and enhanced scalability.

Although the event arrives amid renewed interest in privacy coins, Horizen had already begun transitioning from Layer 1 to Layer 3 back in February, with the DAO voting to progressively retire the old chain. The plan emphasizes an orderly migration and governance continuity.

The milestone could bolster privacy-preserving capabilities on Base and improve interoperability for developers building on the platform. By aligning with a modern execution environment, Horizen reinforces credibility in the privacy network space without overstating expectations.
