Arm Holdings (ARM) is a technology company founded in 1990 in Cambridge, England with a distinctive business model: rather than manufacturing chips, it licenses chip design architectures and development tools. Acquired by SoftBank in 2016, it relisted on Nasdaq in 2023 in what became one of the largest technology IPOs of that year. Arm's most critical characteristic is that it is an "IP company" that does not manufacture anything. Apple's A and M series chips, Qualcomm's Snapdragon, Samsung's Exynos, and NVIDIA's Grace CPUs all build on Arm architecture.
