EWY (iShares MSCI South Korea ETF) is an exchange-traded fund managed by BlackRock iShares that provides USD-denominated access to the Korean stock market (KOSPI). Globally recognized Korean companies such as Samsung Electronics, SK Hynix, LG Energy Solution, and POSCO make up the ETF's largest holdings. EWY tracks the MSCI Korea 25/50 Index. The 25/50 rule caps a single component at 25% and limits components exceeding the cap to a combined 50%, preventing excessive concentration. Electronics, automotive, chemicals, and financials form the backbone of the index.
