France has launched a comprehensive operation against organized crime gangs in a wave of brutal 'key attacks' targeting crypto owners. The National Organized Crime Prosecutor's Office (PNACO) has charged 88 suspects; more than 10 of them are minors. 75 of these suspects are in custody in 12 investigations conducted by specialized investigating judges at the Paris Judicial Court. Charges include kidnapping, deprivation of liberty, extortion, and money laundering. According to CertiK data, there were 72 cases worldwide in 2025, with losses reaching $40.9 million, and Europe accounting for 40% of the cases. France is showing signs of escaping its status as the 'key attack capital'.
